His story stands in stark contrast to that of his half-brother, David Cassidy, who lived a very different life under the pressures of fame. Best known for his role in the 1970s sitcom “The Partridge Family,” David struggled with alcohol addiction throughout his life. His battle with substance abuse became a significant part of his personal and professional journey.
In 2008, David publicly admitted to his struggles with alcoholism. Unfortunately, his addiction led to multiple issues, including a rehab stint in 2014. His younger brother found it incredibly difficult to witness his downward spiral, acknowledging how painful it was to see someone he loved go through such turmoil.

Shaun acknowledged that his brother’s childhood had been vastly different from his own, leading him down a separate path. With a different mother and unique relationship with their father, David’s experiences shaped a much different career and personal journey.
Reflecting on their bond, Shaun admitted, “I loved and adored him. He was one of the funniest guys you’d ever meet.” The two had a chance to collaborate in the Broadway production of “Blood Brothers,” a deeply personal and emotional experience for both. The show not only strengthened their connection but also allowed them to honor their late father, who tragically passed away in an apartment fire in 1976.
Despite the hardships that came with fame and family tragedy, Shaun found his own path to happiness. He eventually settled down and built a life outside of the spotlight. Over the years, he married three times, first to former Playboy model Ann Pennington, with whom he had two children, Caitlin and John Cassidy.
Later, he married actress Susan Diol, who appeared in “Quantum Leap” and “Star Trek.” Together, they welcomed a daughter, Juliet Cassidy. His third and current wife, TV producer Tracey Lynne Turner, became his life partner in 2004. They have since built a beautiful life together, raising four children.
